Gone Fishing

This blog has been discovered within my school district, and the address has been passed around to many administrators, teachers, and students. To avoid dealing with the unpleasant fallout that has already reared its head, I am taking it down. All posts will be archived on another site, and will only be available to invited users. If you would like to be invited, e-mail me a request. If you don't know my e-mail, you are out of luck, my friend.

I regret the circumstances that have made this extreme action necessary, meaning both the excessive openness on my part and the loose tongues of others. I attempted to be open in order to give my (dozen or so) readers a good picture of what my job and my life were like. I have always been aware that this openness would leave me vulnerable, but I judged it worth the risk in the interests of public information. However, given recent sanctions against some of my friends taken by their districts, combined with some person or persons spreading the address of MY blog around, I find that the risk is no longer one I am willing to take.

Some things that have been intimated to me in the last three days have been quite upsetting. Apparently there are more than a few people within my district who are very upset with the content that was once available on this page, and have been spreading malicious and untraceable rumors through third parties. To those individuals, I want to say: shame on you. I can't express how disappointed I am that you not only failed to ask me about whatever upset you, but went even further and launched a secret smear campaign. You may not like what I had to say, but I had the courage (and, quite possibly, the stupidity) to sign my name to everything I wrote and make it available to everyone. It is your cowardice that makes my withdrawal necessary.

To those few people who actually read what I wrote, I'm sorry it had to come to this. See you 'round cyberspace.
